Owner, Principal Accessibility Strategist
Based out of Victoria, BC, André has been working in accessibility services for over 15 years. Starting out coordinating integrated, inclusive arts programming for children with complex medical diagnoses in a hospital setting, he went on to manage the provincial assessment team for the Rick Hansen Foundation’s Accessibility Certification Program. In addition, André has been lead contractor for aging-in-place housing projects managing various stages of residential construction. As the father of a child with a disability, André has a personal commitment to creating inclusive communities where physical, social and economic inclusion are standard. In his free time, André enjoys playing guitar and jamming with his son.
Collaborator, Step-by-Step Accessibility
Based out of Cumberland, BC, Ramesh and his firm, Step-By-Step Accessibility work with local municipalities and property developers to build and renovate accessible built environments. As an RHFAC Professional with a passion for inclusion and standardizing accessibility, Ramesh has helped large Vancouver Island-based organizations achieve sustainable accessible strategies. Additionally, with an extensive background in human resources specializing in career counselling, Ramesh contributes to policy development regarding accessible hiring practices and workplace accommodations. With FlashAbility Access, Ramesh contributes to property assessments, inclusion policy manuals and stakeholder engagement. When not working on accessibility, Ramesh enjoys working out at the local gym and helping his wife with their dog treat business.
